David Beckham has signed an exclusive partnership with Fanatics, announced on February 2, to produce autographed and inscribed memorabilia and trading cards.
What happened?
The deal marks a significant step in Fanatics' international growth, particularly in the collectibles business, as they compete with Panini.
Why it matters for David Beckham
Beckham previously had an exclusive autograph and memorabilia deal with Panini since 2021, but this new agreement with Fanatics is the first time Topps has worked with him beyond featuring his images on cards.
The first card set under the new deal will be the 2026 Topps Chrome Premier League, which hits stores on February 5.
What comes next?
Fanatics Collectibles president of trading cards, David Leiner, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that Beckham will be featured throughout the set, from the base set to inserts, autographs, and more.
Beckham will also be included in Champions League and Premier League products, as well as MLS products, where Fanatics holds the rights.
Leiner mentioned that some unique Beckham-used items will be integrated into products, such as game-worn memorabilia like the Debut Patch and Gold Logoman.
Fanatics has been ramping up its efforts in the sport, including the opening of a flagship store in London last year, and this partnership with Beckham is a significant addition to their growing international business.
On December 2023, Fanatics announced that it had been selected by FIFA to exclusively operate all 104 stadium and fan festival retail locations for the 2026 World Cup.
